How To Use The ParallaxMind™ Gamma
‘Awakening To Compassion’ Soundtrack
The ParallaxMind™ Awakening To Compassion module is based on the research of Richard Davidson, a neuroscientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s W.M. Keck Laboratory for Functional Brain Imaging and Behavior1.
The study was done in cooperation with the Dalai Lama, by studying the brain wave patterns of a group of Tibetan Monks including Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, who has written his own book ‘The Joy Of Living, Unlocking The Secret & Science of Happiness’.
In ‘The Joy Of Living’ Yongey talks about his own struggle with anxiety and depression as a young monk, and offers a bridge between modern brainwave science and Buddhist meditation.
In the Waisman study, Yongey’s brainwave activity has been measured during meditation, earning him the enviable sobriquet of “happiest man on earth.”
The monks who were chosen to participate in the study, aren’t novice monks in the sense that they’ve collectively meditated for over 50,000 hours, and are highly advanced meditation practitioners.
The findings of the study revealed that the brain wave patterns accessed in the brains of the monks, were dramatically different than that of the control group of average people like you and me.
The electrodes attached to the monks heads measured huge amounts of GAMMA waves, centered at around 40 Hz (40 cycles per second) in the monks.
The researchers learned that this recently discovered brain wave pattern is associated with a neurological phenomenon called “Binding”.
“Binding” is a process by which the brain collects, and integrates the sensory perception of our 5 (and the 6th, what one might call “intuition”, or “psychic awareness”) senses, and binds them into a more integrated, coherent “whole”.
The Gamma brain wave state synchronizes and regulates all of our conscious and unconscious (autonomic) perceptions, allowing us to clarify and sort out the world around us in highly dynamic, and efficient ways.
These little known facts make perfect sense when you consider that loving kindness and compassion allow us to feel at one with ourselves and the collective Universe as a whole.
The Gamma brain wave state centered at 40 Hz is a dominant brain wave state associated with problem solving in fearful situations, information-rich task processing, and high-level information processing;
“For scientists who study the human brain, even it’s simplest act of perception is an event of astonishing intricacy. 40 Hz brain wave activity may be a kind of “binding mechanism”, said Dr. Rodolfo Llinas, a professor of neuroscience at New York University.
Llinas believes that the 40-cycle-per-second wave serves to connect structures in the cortex where advanced information processing occurs, and the thalamus, a lower brain region where complex relay and integrative functions are carried out.
Dr. Llinas adds…
“40-Hz activity varies from 38.8 to 40.1-Hz, regardless of the electrode site. The average frequency is in the ~39.5-Hz range. In summary, when the body is profoundly relaxed and the mind is in a state of high focus and concentration, 20 and 40-Hz brain activity can be seen in the raw and quantitative EEG of some subjects. It is possible that 18 to 22-Hz Beta and possibly 40-Hz neurofeedback training may help create a “relaxed body–focused mind” state of consciousness.”
Confirming Sheer et al.’s work, compared the EEG of middle and high I.Q. subjects during mental multiplication activity. A 40-Hz rhythm occurred just prior to the subject’s answering the questions. 40-Hz pulses are thought to lead to synchronization and coordination of neurons assigned to the processing of incoming sensory stimulation. Put in “computer ese”…
…40-Hz may be the brain’s “operating system”
frequency our brainwaves “tune” into.
However, I engineered the new ParallaxMind Gamma – Awakening To Compassion track to travel through 40-Hz up to and center at 44-Hz based on my own research, to correlate within the boundaries of “Schumann Resonance”… which has been associated with telepathy (increased psychic awareness and intuition in addition to mental binding and increased coherence of the five human senses) in clinical studies.
How To Use The New “Awakening To Compassion” Soundtrack
I recommend listening to the soundtrack 2 times per week and is an excellent addition to your regular ParallaxMind™ Guided Meditation System (PMGMS) practice (sold separately), and taking a 2-3 day break in between. I composed the soundtrack to be 11:33 in duration. I’ve found it adds a powerful “integration of an elevated kind” to your standard practice with the PMGMS, yet does so in under 12 minutes time. The effects of which may surprise you with dedicated use.
Personally, I remember floating about 2 feet off the ground when I first began composing this new soundtrack for release. Others have reported letting go of emotional stress, heart openings, and shedding tears of heart felt joy within their first listen.
The Music Therapy Side Of “Awakening To Compassion”
The musical arrangement I composed features an Eastern Indian instrument called an “Esraj”, used in traditional Indian Classical, and Folk music. The word “Esraj” is translated as “robber of the heart”, and given the deep heart felt feelings this instrument influences, you may be able to appreciate it’s name yourself.
You can play the soundtrack in your MP3 player of choice, directly in your web browser, or PC’s media player.
Please refrain from driving your car, operating any heavy machinery, or cutting vegetables for your dinner salad, etc. for at least 30 minutes after listening to this new ParallaxMind soundtrack. The majority of human beings alive today, rarely experience the kind of prolonged gamma brain levels stimulated by “Awakening To Compassion”, so you will need to allow some time for your neurochemistry to adapt to the new stimulus we are giving it.
Eventually, the potential “light headed” or “high like” feelings you may experience at first, or whatever is unique to you will integrate at a whole new level of brain wave function, perception, and awareness. I’ve personally experienced healing relating to my heart energies, improved blood circulation, related feelings of compassion for self and others, and increased blood circulation to my brain while I still evolve and recover from my two open-heart surgery experiences between 2003-2007.
The heart based energies I have tapped into here, may translate to you on a very deep level. I assure you, it is completely safe to use and benefit from Awakening To Compassion.
Healing in these times of socio-economic stress is why I created this soundtrack to be released at this time. The carrier wave and resonant frequencies I targeted with this new track, I engineered to correlate with the level of cortical evoked response experienced and accessed in PMGMS Level 1 soundtracks.
We are living in a fascinating time where the neuroscience of the West is bridging the gap between the ancient, philosophies and mental constructs of the mind in the East. You are participating in an evolution that humanity has yet to fully embrace and appreciate. It is my honor to bring this information on mind development, and spiritual awakening tools to you.
I can physically feel ripples expanding around my heart…
“Hi Lewi! I am listening to the soundtracks – amazing… Thank you so much. The timing is always so DIVINE! I need them so much at this phase in life and you sent them. Thank you!!! In fact I am finding myself incapacitated to express my joy and gratitude. Each one is so special and magical. I find such a beautiful amalgam of Hindustani Classical and Western Classical music. I can physically feel ripples expanding around my heart and throat chakra while listening to ‘Awakening To Compassion’…
… even third eye and crown chakras – such heavy waves tingling all over. I am feeling so calm and going back to a peaceful sleep now. Namaste!”
Dr. Jyotika Chibber – Maharashtra, India
Dont’ be surprised if after listening to the track regulary for about 3 weeks you experience an emotional release, and opening at the heart level. However, you may have very different experiences based on where you are at in your cognitive development. Yet, heart openings seem to be fairly common among participants using this module. – by Lewi Glenis – Creative Director
